Job Purpose

The Research Analyst is responsible for coordinating and generating insightful research, helping to guide

and inform decisions that optimize marketing initiatives to engage and attract customers to World Vision as well as increase the overall value of World Vision’s customer base. Provides strategic market insights based on research to internal clients, supporting the definition and development of new strategies and tactics to engage current and new customers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Processes internal and external data through tools such as Qualtrics, Clarabridge, SPSS, Excel and CRM database, to develop research insights that provide actionable recommendations to support marketing optimization.
  • Translates business requirements into research questions and identifies the type of research required to meet the business needs.
  • Responsible for selecting and interacting with external marketing agencies to develop analysis, models, and reporting.
  • Provides relevant fact-based customer analysis and insight, highlighting trends to guide and inform decisions around marketing strategy
  • Provides relevant competitive, industry, and economic data to support strategic planning.
  • Collaborates with Data Science & Advanced Analytics team and supports a core mandate of the department to develop and maintain a strategic framework to enhance customer personas, segments, and journeys.
  • Acts as a technical SME to clients across the Marketing organization for both ongoing and ad-hoc analyses with the goal of running better campaigns, better targeting identified core customer segments, and increasing marketing return on investment.

External Research specifics:

  • Assists the Research Manager & Director of Data Science & Advanced Analytics, as needed, with all aspects of primary research design and execution (Qualitative and Quantitative).
  • Design and program questionnaires using Qualtrics software.
  • Manages Insight Community Customer Panel, employing tactics to improve response rates and panel engagement, including managing creative content for the Member Hub.
  • Independently leads assigned research projects, such as Customer Satisfaction & Loyalty Tracking, and recommends new approaches in design, statistical weighting schemes, etc.
  • Utilizes large data sets from multiple sources to integrate into holistic analysis.
  • Presents research findings to internal teams, as needed.
  • Manage and track budgets & other administrative requirements (eg. procurement).


  • Minimum 3-5 years’ marketing analytics or market research experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Research, Business, Statistics or similar discipline.
  • Proven ability to distinguish strategy vs. tactics and derive relevant solutions to complex issues
  • A deep understanding of marketing strategy, trends, and their implications for a non-profit organization, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • A strong team player who collaborates well with other Marketing departments.
  • Demonstrated analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven expertise in the everyday use of statistical techniques including sampling, testing, logistic regression, linear models and clustering, making use of standard statistical software, such as SPSS, Excel and reporting software, such as PowerPoint.
  • Excellent data analysis and continuous learning skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Experience in data management (data extraction, cleaning, validation and variable creation) through the writing and interpretation of SQL queries or equivalent for standard and ad-hoc purposes, is an asset.
  • Experience deploying end-to-end survey data and case management experience to close-the-loop on customer feedback is a definite asset.
